This website, a sister website to Pursnicketies.com is established not only to sell my modular knitting designs but also to sell my hand-knitted garments.  My design patterns are available as PDF Files using Acrobat Reader 6 point or higher. The hand-knitted garments shown on the next page were all knitted by me on my path to designing. They are new, never worn, and were knit with designer yarns and high-end yarns.  Further information about them can be obtained by emailing me @carole1237@fuse.net

         Carole's Garden Vest
This is my first modular design called Carole's Garden Vest.  It was previously published in InKnitters Magazine.  It is knit with 6 shades of Koigu KPPPM Yarn using modular small and medium squares. This garment actually blooms when taken outside in the sunlight. The trim is applied twisted I-cord with a frog attachment. Needles used: US #2, 3, or 4 depending on the desired size of the vest.

             Square One Sweater
The name of this sweater reflects how many times I had to go back to square one in order to find the best way of attaching the center square module to make all the sides of the square similar.  The end result is a beautiful pullover knitted with Debbie Bliss Pink Cotton/Cashmere.  Needles Used: US #5

             Carole's Triangle Vest
This design was previously published in InKnitters Magazine. It is an argyle pattern which takes the diamond and splits it into two parts.  By attaching the points, the mirror images of the triangles are reflected. The Isosceles Right Triangles then form squares. The yarn is Mountain Colors Hand Painted Mountain Goat in alternate shades of Copper King Plum & Deep Blue. The vest is trimmed with a button band. Needles Used: US #4 or 5 depending on the desired size of the vest.

             Carole's Shell vest
This vest is a variation on a theme popularized by the German knitwear designer Horst Schulz. I have put my own spin on the design by knitting the shells on the diagonal thereby allowing the variegated yarn to be carried on the diagonal instead having to cut it. This procedure saves time since there are fewer ends to weave in.   The pattern shows the numerical sequence of knitting the shells. The vest is knit in one piece with only seams at the shoulders.  The vest on the left is knitted in  Brown Sheep Handpaint in shades of Plum Purple and English Garden.  The vest on the right also in knitted in shades of Plum Purple, but the variegated color is Stormy Skies. Needles Used: US #4, 5, or 6 depending on the desired size of the vest.

          Carole's Rose Window vest

This vest is  variation on the 4 in 1 Square and the Blossom design popularized by the German knitwear designer Horst Schulz.  Using his 4 in 1 Square, I chose to place the deceases on the public side instead of the private side. Then I placed the Blossom design inside the 4 in 1 square.  The yarn used is Shelridge Farm in two shades of variegated and 2 shades of solid. Needles used: US #2, 3, or 4 depending on the desired size of the vest.

    Carole's Harlequin (Pinwheel) Vest
This vest began with idea "What if?" What if a modular square is decreased every other right side row instead of every right side row? The following pinwheel design is the answer.  My version of the Horst Schulz's 4 in 1 square is used to join the pinwheels. The yarn is Shelridge Farm's Soft Ultra in shades of Green Apple, Peacock, Lemon Lime, and Iris. The variegated is used for the squares, triangles, and the trim.  Needles used: US # 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 depending on the desired size of the garment.

                   Bias Strip Jacket
The idea for this jacket came from a vest that I had knitted many years ago that used precut strips of fabric.  With this idea in mind, I went to the fabric store and chose 4 compatible colors of woven cotton fabric plus 1 matching woven solid fabric color. After cutting  the fabric into l/4" strips on the bias,  I knitted the bias strips into modular squares.  Needles Used: US #7

           Blossoms & Squares Vest
The lively and colorful Horst Schulz Blossoms in this vest are joined with my version of his  4 in 1 Square. The blossoms can be knitted and joined  as you go, or they can all be knit separately and then joined later. The yarn is Art Yarns Hand Painted Supermerino  in 4 different variegated yarns and 1 solid yarn.  Needles Used: US #4  & 5 along with #2 & 3

This quick and clever carry along project is useful for your IPod or cell phone when there is no pocket in your coat, jacket, or jeans.  The yarns used are Moda Dea "Ticker Tape",  Lion Brand "Incredible", & Berroco Cotton Twist Variegated.  Needles Used: US #5 or #7, depending on the chosen yarn.
